Hi folks, just to ask if it,s okay to feed the garden birds nectarines and/or strawberries as a friend has given me a load of fruit which i won,t eat and just wondered if i peel the nectarines, if i can feed them to the birds ? i,m not sure either if i can feed them strawberries ? All advice is much appreciated:0)Amanda
TT.
Blackbirds don't usually wait to be invited to eat strawberries they just help themselves off my plants. Never tried nectarines.

I can wholeheartedly agree with doggie about the strawberries. My parents used to grow strawberries in their garden, which the local blackbirds just adored. Most of their raids were in the early morning.
Blackbirds have enjoyed the fruits of the gooseberry bush more than me this year!
Raspberries also!

Zoom in to see birds eye view of juicy/ripe dessert gooseberries.Taste a bit like b/currants and I kinda miss the green hairy ones we used to have at school. The last batch to ripen here are always left for the birds.
p.s They make a smart crumble.
pps. The blackbirds are well-bred here. They take em to the path to eat.
