Although generally using my binoculars more than the camera this week I still ended up with quite a few photos as we get towards the end of our six day visit. We've still got tomorrow to go and have to say the weather has been excellent for November time and really enjoyed our walks around Leighton Moss in the warm sunshine, despite the early and very chilly 1 degree starts.
I plan to put all the photos on this one thread instead of multiple posts and will add them a few at a time, so bear with me as I sort through the pics !
Firstly, I think a couple of scenic photos showing the salt marsh area which is about a mile from the visitor centre and two photos of the lower woodland area on the main reserve First photo taken from the Eric Morecambe hide early morning ...... and yes it was cold. !!
Lower woodland area; the path to lower hide further down is closed at the moment whilst construction of a brand new hide takes place but you can get down most of the lower path and into the woodland. We have had blue sky each day :)
Back to salt marsh area with Little Egret, Great Egret, Redshank (there was a Spotted Redshank but too far away for decent photo).
Redshank ......
female Teal .....
Great Egret - Folies Bergère ? LOL !!
Then it was off to the main reserve ............. I will load more pics later

Hi Hazel Glad you have had great weather and blue skies, perfect for your beautiful photos, can't wait to see the others.
Nice set of pics Hazel.
Lovely photo's Hazy, nice ones of the great egret. I have only been to this reserve once, had a good visit though.
Thanks all, we've had a wonderful few days with fantastic weather for 4 days until grey cloud and drizzle rolled in today so no photos worth while although we did see a Kingfisher, Spotted Redshank and also 4 Marsh Harriers all at once. We met so many wonderful folk and other familiar faces we often encounter at LM.
So now I'll continue with posting photos from the last few days taken on the main reserve. Starting with the handsome Pintail ducks; there were quite a few around the reserve...
female Pintail .........
As you will have seen from the other thread we were lucky enough to see the female Garganey duck which seems now to have disappeared........
female Shoveler duck .......
Water Rail that briefly popped out to the edge of the reed bed ........
Lots of snipe around although most were lurking in the taller grass and behind the reeds ........
female Teal ...........
Some scenic pics from Lilians hide ......
Today's gloom from same hide !! what a difference a day makes ........
Frosty cobwebs on the wild flowers ...... brrrrrghhh. it was chilly
got to Causeway Hide early so we could see the 11 cattle egret before they took off for the day .......... distant cropped photo and it was as cold as it looked that early in the morning !!
Two Whooper swans dropped in later in the day .........
Now for some woodland birds including the lovely Marsh Tit .......
Treecreeper.......
female Chaffinch..........
Jay .........
and this thread wouldn't be complete without including the famous Leighton Moss robins ! ........
That concludes this thread, thank you for taking the time to view the pics.
A lovely selection of photo's Hazy, nice to see the shy water rail and snipe.
Just loveky Hazel, glad you enjoyed your break.
