Thanks BD. I think you could be right on the ID it's always nice to find something new.
Finally got some bee activity on the garden lavender, plus one or two drifting to the buddleia. Was in Weymouth and there is about 60feet worth of buddleia all in bloom, no bees or butterflies. Very worrying Haing said that, I guess it was quite blowy today.

Never seen lesser (or greater for that matter) stag beetle.... and wouldn't begin to know how to sex them! Good spot, Snappy
