It's well overdue for starting. This is the link to last years thread
Butterflies and Moths 2023
There haven't been a lot of butterflies around here this year so far. The earliest was a fresh Red Admiral on the 3rd of january
Since then I've seen a Speckled Wood & Peacock. There have been Brimstone's about but I haven't seen them. Plenty of time left in the year to go chasing butterflies.
Best wishes

Might be wrong - usually am, but your moth may be a Hoary Footman (Eilema Caniola), just going off Google. Very similar. It says Eilema Uniola is seen in Spain, Portugal, France and Italy. Doesn't mention UK.
Thanks BD, I like that better
Last year I would have said 'Just a Speckled Wood and a Ringlet, nothing much' ... but this year YEE HAW, WHO HOO, 'A Speckled Wood AND a Ringlet, both on the same day ...

I'm tempted to agree, scarlet tiger moth. When enlarged, you can make out the bright scarlet body under those wings.
Whatever, superb photos.

Super stuff BD ... am reeling with joy here, a second Painted Lady plus ... the very first visit just now of a Hummingbird Hawkmoth!!! (Sorry no pic, didn't dare go for camera, didn't want to miss seeing it, just called OH in time for him to see it briefly, his all-time favourite) now I know it's Summer even though about to rain again!!

SM - you do log your sightings don't you? - Yes to Eilema caniola - Hoary Footman
Scarce Footman - Eilemma complana - the yellow stripe along the leading edge of the forewing reaches the tip without narrowing or breaking/fading and the collar is completely orange-yellow.

I have been a little concerned by my eyesight recently, not completely happy with my new contacts and have been worried that I was missing butterflies but spotting this made me feel little happier that I'm not missing too many
