It's well overdue for starting. This is the link to last years thread
Butterflies and Moths 2023
There haven't been a lot of butterflies around here this year so far. The earliest was a fresh Red Admiral on the 3rd of january
Since then I've seen a Speckled Wood & Peacock. There have been Brimstone's about but I haven't seen them. Plenty of time left in the year to go chasing butterflies.
Best wishes

Thanks Linda
Loved the Cinnibar larvae ... I had one for rearing one year, named him Jacob, used to scour the lanes by us for fresh Ragwort for him to eat but he escaped from his pot and I never found him so was denied the chance of seeing a fresh new moth emerge!

I have seen quite a few Cinnibar moths and caterpillars the last couple of days. At least they seem to be doing ok.
I've got some ragwort in my 'lawn' (no-mow April, May and June so far - how long until the first mow?). No cinnabar moths (or larvae). Locally abundant, but otherwise absent (possibly).
Woohoo...a visitor

Very nice
Oooh, it's found you, hope it's the start of many
If you let it grow, they shall come!
