It's well overdue for starting. This is the link to last years thread
Butterflies and Moths 2023
There haven't been a lot of butterflies around here this year so far. The earliest was a fresh Red Admiral on the 3rd of january
Since then I've seen a Speckled Wood & Peacock. There have been Brimstone's about but I haven't seen them. Plenty of time left in the year to go chasing butterflies.
Best wishes

Managed to get footage of first Comma visitor to my buddleia ... handheld & through D/G window!

Well done Wendy. I'm glad it came around from the dark side to say hello to you ...
Thanks BD, yes it does
Well caught Wendy
Lovely to see the Comma footage, butterfly numbers appear to be down significantly due to the wet weather over the months :( I passed so many Buddleja plants recently but not a single butterfly, only hoverflies.

Thanks all ... waited such a long time to see one just felt I had to mark the occasion!
Nothing like probing around with your proboscis.
Gosh, the detail in that photo is simply stunning.
