It's well overdue for starting. This is the link to last years thread
Butterflies and Moths 2023
There haven't been a lot of butterflies around here this year so far. The earliest was a fresh Red Admiral on the 3rd of january
Since then I've seen a Speckled Wood & Peacock. There have been Brimstone's about but I haven't seen them. Plenty of time left in the year to go chasing butterflies.
Best wishes

Well done Snappy. There's nothing at all around here. I saw none in Whitby and not a single one at Bempton Cliffs ...
Thanks Wendy, you are on the scoreboard then
Thanks BD. The only ones I see quite a few of are Meadow Brown and Small Heath. The rest have just been the odd one or two...
SnappyMac said:I have seen quite a few Cinnibar moths and caterpillars the last couple of days. At least they seem to be doing ok.
I've not seen one, yet!
But I'm seeing lots of scarlet tiger moths....

Nice ones, seen yesterday on my walk here where i live, a red admiral, small skipper and a marble white.
That's a good selection William.
Photo's taken today at RSPB Sandy, best day yet this year for the butterflies.
