It's well overdue for starting. This is the link to last years thread
Butterflies and Moths 2023
There haven't been a lot of butterflies around here this year so far. The earliest was a fresh Red Admiral on the 3rd of january
Since then I've seen a Speckled Wood & Peacock. There have been Brimstone's about but I haven't seen them. Plenty of time left in the year to go chasing butterflies.
Best wishes

Nice one SnappyMac
Thanks Mr Kes. I am up to 10 species of Butterfly for 2024, only counting those I have photographed. Missing loads of common ones but have managed two firsts (Wall & Green Hairstreak).
Nice I’ve not counted my number yet. That’s a good start though. Not sure if this wet weather is slowing things down or if it’s just a little too early.
A nice mix yesterday.

More lovely captures SM, still waiting for rain to desist here, best news is that Buddleias are forming flower spikes all over!
Thanks Wendy, I find both Buddleias and Blackberry good for butterflies.
Great selection. Am waiting for better weather here.
