As am sure we have all been reading about the huge amount of waxwings being spotted throughout the UK...I soon realised I drove past a flock of 70 or so yesterday without knowing.....so I checked this morning and were sighting submitted...temperature had finally risen above freezing....3 min journey in the car then lots of birders and their cameras woohooo !!!
Oh no don't go yet!!!!
As you can see it's next to a main road..not that they were put off by that or noise of the passing trains
I estimate they should be in my garden in next day or 2 once they have consumed all the berries doon the hill lol

That's a fabulous tick and well done for going out an getting.
I've never heard of the waxwing, but they are a beautiful looking winter migrant, and the short video is super clear.

I understand waxwings are quite a common sighting as far south as Oxfordshire, but as yet, none down here....
