Going East in November

Hi all, me and Mrs PB are planning on heading east again, in November. We've never made it to Minsmere, so that will be first port of call. Can anyone recommend nice accommodation for a couple of nghts niear by? We'll then head to WWT Welney for a couple of nights and hopefully stay in one of their cottages as we did before. And where between the two, will be good visiting

The Eels Foot Inn is very close to Minsmere, I'm told their rooms are nice, if pricey.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

Ignore them. I've never stayed there but I've eaten there - definitely recommended.

A possibility. The Crown at Westleton has rooms available to rent. It is not far from Minsmere and is very close to Dunwich Heath. A large herd of deer can be found at Dunwich heath and the National Trust site at Dunwich is worth a visit.

Thanks Ed.... Mrs PB has decided on the Eels Foot, but I (or may be we) will be visiting Dunwich Heath ..... Oh, hang on.... I'll be going on my own and dropping her at Saxmundham, as they have the only Waitrose

Hi PB, we like to visit Snape Maltings when in the area. They have various independent shops, galleries and eateries. You can also walk alongside the River Alde, I find it best at low tide as you get a variety of waders on the rivers mud banks.
