We have a camera box which has been used by sparrows for several years. This year's latest brood was 4 chicks. 3 of them fledged this morning. However, for the first time , we have witnessed 1 of the chicks returning to the box at least 3 times during the afternoon and evening and tonight there are 2 babies sleeping in the bird box! (We are assuming it is the same chick returning each time but cannot be 100% sure).
Is this unusual behaviour or common? We have never seen it before.
Update, 2 birds were still in the box at 7am At 8am it was back to being 1 on its own. I have just had another look at 10:25am and there are 2 again!
