Another early morning visit to Brandon Marsh, this time while it was still dark, arriving 06:15, armed with NV Binoculars as well as the camera gear, and STILL no barn owls!
On the way back to the café, the long tailed tits were out in force, and as I always say, a day out with nature is never wasted.
Then off to the café for a thaw out, sausage bap and hot choccie, plus, to watch the birds through the window....
A dunnock foraging
A robin of course....
This one kept walking on the frozen pond, not quite grasping why it couldn't bathe or drink....
A willow tit on the feeders....
Mrs/Miss BB foraging....
and finally, a nuthatch, that seemed to try and mess up every photo attempt....
before finally obliging and letting me have a couple of decent photos....
No barn owl(s), but still a good morning out.

SnappyMac said:Great photo's Mike, I like to see the Nuthatch. At the moment we have a flock of Long Tailed Tits come through the garden on most days, always nice to see and hear.
Thank you.
The reserve has an abundance of LTT, but they keep moving around and getting the wrong side of twigs and branches. I did manage to get a coupe of LTT pics on a subsequent visit.

I know, disgraceful isn't it....
I don't need much encouragement to make a return visit, barn owl or not....
I'm aghast at how many actually make the early morning slot, all retirees.....
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

As for the barn owl, it could easily be never, you know the old saying; "Never work with animals etc", I'm not worried, if I do, great, if not, there's always something to see and share.
