After yet another successful year on the Odds & Sods thread, initially started I think by Hazy, it might be wise to kickstart the 2023 thread off.
Thank you to those who have contributed to last years thread, and there has been very interesting odds and sods in "Odds & Sods 2022" that aren't enough to place into a dedicated thread, which you can look back on the following link:

What better for me, and as yet, I've not ventured far, ewe know what I mean, with this lassie on Baddesley Clinton estate yesterday....

You don't see many of these around ... not even in Linda's garden ....
It was in a tree opposite my house, then flew to a feeder a few doors down from me.
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
On a dead tree, in a back garden of a house close to the end of our early morning stomp, this felt like Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds.
In a similar vein, Mr Watkins wondered why his television reception was so bad.
On a different tack, Ringed Parakeets have made it to Finchampstead. A breeding pair. I haven't managed to get a photograph of one yet. They seem quite wary of people.
I look at their presence this way...if a Sparrow hawk can take down a Collared Dove, then perhaps a Ringed Parakeet would be a nice meal. Not sure if we have any Goshawks in the area, but we definitely have Peregrine falcons. They like a nice tasty Parakeet.
What's it got DB? Looks like a pine cone ... or a walnut whip ...
I have had a go at enlarging your pic DB, hope you don't mind? Maybe just a toy or trophy?
