Oh dear ...
My first butterfly capture this season ... A Peacock
Not my first butterfly sighting of the year, but the first with a camera in my hands. Returning to car, after stomping around Moor Green Lakes on a glorious sunny morning - and warm to boot. A Peacock butterfly landed on footpath in front of me. Sun was behind me for once, which meant Peacock butterfly had it wings nicely presented to me as it sunned itself. I clicked away with camera, until a jogger jogged past me, frightening butterfly into tree.
We'll start with it in a tree in full blossom. Difficult to focus on as it was tucked behind so many twigs. Enjoy.
Now from underneath.
It flew to an even worse position for photography, but hey ho, as needs must. Came out rather well.
This is where it started. Fairly bog standard photo and setting.
90% luck, 5% field craft, 5% camera skills.
Coma today trying to enjoy the sun but also shelter from the wind!
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
Like that one Linda, always hope I will see it at mine!
Butterflys have arived at the stream now Iv only seen the cabbage whites so far none anywhere else just the stream today
I managed to get one photo but they didn’t stay for long enough for close ups
I had to reduce the exsposure and make it easyer to see the butterfly
on this occasion cause the butterfly is so white it was too exposed so had to reduce the contrast so you can see it
