Butterflies and Moths 2023

Bit of an odd question, but is that the underside of it? Is it on the outside of a window? I have been searching through my bumper book of bugs ... otherwise known as Collins Complete Guide to Btitish insects to no avail. They all look the same after a bit!

Painted Ladies have reached my Buddleias, very pretty butterfly!

Haven't seen a flowering Buddleia here yet!!! Weather is pants though :-(

Yours will last longer than here in South, a bit too much heat here drying out the blooms!

Too much rain droonin the blooms here then the gusty wind relocating the petals!!!

Rarely ideal and weather conditions getting more extreme!

Edited: PimpernelBloke has pointed out to might that this is a Red Admiral. Inability to correctly identify butterflies to be added to list. I'll roll out excuse number 43: I was knackered after swimming. It was quite a hard lunchtime session.   I couldn't even get the floor correct. It was first, not second floor!  I did stand on my compost heap. Got that bit right.

Red Admiral, landed on first floor window frame to sun itself.

Stood on garden chair for this one.

Then I stood on compost heap in an attempt to get better angle. Only the blighter didn't play ball. Luckily, nobody wandered on street, otherwise they would think there was a loony.
