Yesterday we kicked off our day at our local Haugh
Blue skies baby!?!? Lol
Whooper was still there
Doing a bit of yoga
Godwits were still there in the mud
Then right infront of me up pops a couple of Stonechat....A 1st of the day woohoo
The wind was pretty gusty so the poor wee things were hanging on for dear life at times
But in the lull of the wind they perched beautifully
Even the Robin thought it would have a go at being a Stonechat
I would have been happy to sit there all day and take their photos but we decided to pop home for some lunch then a wee afternoon down to Moffat
The lake was pretty quiet....saw a kingie zoom past and Teal fly in and the usual Cormorants
These two look like they are having a cuddle
Little Grebes were also popping up
Then we went a wee walk
We disturbed a Mistle Thrush passing this tree
Then in the field infront the Deer were leaping
As we sat in a hide looking onto the hills a bird of prey flew up from the ground but crows were soon on its tail
I was on the wrong settings as I went outside and it was above me!!!
Only found out last night as I couldn't quite work out what it was as all happened so fast and a was in a muddle trying to fix the blooming camera and that's were Cin and Pete came to my rescue after posting the pics last night to tell me it was a Hen Harrier WOW...am still on a high ;-)
If that wasn't enough for one day the a Great Egret landed in the field
3 1sts in one day...it really shall be a day I Will remember.
If only I found the pot of gold aswell
Hope you all enjoyed my day
Thanks for looking
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)

Well you certainly are on a run with all these firsts, what a day you had, no wonder you are on a high. Well done. The Stonechats are lovely wee birds, never seen them and Hen Harrier as well! What will be next? Maybe you will find that pot of gold after all and you can give us all a wee share!?
