I thought I would start a new thread dedicated to our beautiful Birds of Prey and hope you will share all your fabulous pics of them aswell ......
Please feel free to add your pics
I will kick it off with one of my regulars...Jock the Sprawk
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
Lucky to get a few recently - funny how some are happy for you to get closer and others won't go anywhere near you
Fabulous photos B1rder they are real beauties
Nice set of shots B1rder maybe it's when they've just eaten?
Yes. Could also be their surrounding environment. If they're used to lots of passing humans, perhaps they become less fearful. But there are also countless examples of animals/birds that have never seen humans and as a result do not feel threatened by them ... Needs someone far more schooled than me to provide an answer.
Thanks ILR - Birds of prey are very photogenic but more difficult to find often
Yesterday morning, I was awake way too early and the sun came up and was visible, for a very rare change these days. This all meant I was wandering in and out getting more shots, getting chillier and oooooooh! Buzzard!
It popped up from the field onto that fence post just across from the patio and didn't seem bothered by my presence at all. (Him again)
He / she is an absolute beauty and caught in the early morning sunlight.
It sat for quite a while, having a look around and I love some of the expressions?
(Site just had a moment)
That look above, for instance!
I actually have an old root or branch out in the shed that I'm planning on fixing to our back fence, it has a natural horizontal "perch" on it
Excellent Scozmos that is a fabulous photo, I wish the Buzzards I see would come a hundred yards closer, good idea providing a perch but you do know you will have to be up at 5 am every day to photograph it, Lol
aha! But! The post would be outside our back window so, I could lounge and photograph at the same time!!!!
Some lovely photo's of the buzzard Scozmos, I rarely see them on a perch.
You have it sussed Scozmos Lol
