Hello all.
I came home today at lunch to feed my little domestic tigress , and just before i went back to work, I looked out of the window and I saw that familiar little orange blob down by the water.
I got the camera, and managed a quick couple of pictures before it was all over with.
The especially exciting thing about this - is that this is the third different one in this patch in one week.
This evening I had another look and there was a Heron slowly stalking about. At one point, there was a flash of blue very close to the heron's face.
I think someone was trying to make a point!
Today's sighting appears to be a young adult female.
Incidentally, I'd like to second the recommendation from David Everett about the RSPB spotlight book on Kingfishers.
It really is so good, and reveals so many details about these beautiful birds.
Stay safe everyone
Tony
All brilliant kingfisher photos, and I wonder if there is a jealous heron nicely posing, as they do....

Great set Tony. Amazing that Kingfishers can swallow such big fish in one go. And it's so kind of you to come home in your lunch hour to feed the wife ...
