During my recent southwest trip I called at Frampton on Severn to see if there were any Hobby there this year. I didn't see any but lots of butterflies, chasers and damsels, which I don't know the names of.

I didn't use a macro lens. I used a Canon 300mm f2.8 with a 1.tc and shot from approx 1.5-2 metres distance. No tripod used. You get a much better depth of field if you aren't using a macro lens but not quite the close up detail.
