Out The Nest A Tad Too Soon?

Photo 7 is a good shot Where the young one has its head under the Woodpigeons chin. For the fox the positive side is that the young birds parent might be around or keeping an eye on it If it does ever get into trouble hopefully it’s parent will get to it in time. If not then that’s just what happens sometimes. But you never know  it might still be there tomorrow 

They develop quite quickly so if it can keep safe it should be able to get itself out of trouble fairly soon.

I did have one last year unable to fly and it survived but this one looks so much younger and unable to leap never mind fly...just looked out and its amongst some growth but still clearly visible!!! Mrs Fox due in an hour!!

Phew!!!!! all you can do is hope it stays near it's parent that will take it to a safer place for the night Linda, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks Gaynor.....The parent flew up to the tree and left it like a sitting duck...its so small!!!...Mrs foxy has been ...she lies on the grass and waits for the door opening lol...so she's been well fed..she got extra so hopefully her and the cubs are stuffed.....

Sad to say its dead on the lawn this morning...glad I never witnessed what happened...possibly Jock as there are a few feathers in one place then lots in another but still a carcass is left...perhaps he was disturbed or maybe the crows and maggies... :-(

Yep absolutely.....it was probably scared out the nest with all the flaming work going on over the fence...machinery being used from 6am every bloody day! Can't see me having a high success rate of babies this year sadly :-(

Dont worry as sad as it is these things do happen sometimes. In the end if it was Jock hes probably very full now. If he’s had young which I don’t know if he has or not then they might of been fed too.
