Day off, coinciding with a glorious forecast... what's not to love about that!
I decided on staying local, to revisit my search for Bullfinch and Yellowhammer, but on a brighter day... Once again, you may need snacks, drinks and a comfy chair, as I may have snapped a lot!!
The first songster of the day
Swiftly followed by the first insect... Small Tortoiseshell
Throughout the morning the constant presence were the Lollipops, but precious few photo opportunities with them
The first of many Robins
Do you ever get the feeling you're being watched?
Another Dunnock, about to burst into song
My first Peacock of the year
And a levitating Robin
One of them hoverwaspbeeflies
And another, playing peek-a-boo on a metal gate
And a third in mid air
I caught up with Mrs Bully, in the same area as last time, but on the opposite side of the path, but both she and Mr Bully preferred the blossom cover than to let me take their pictures
You may recall the 3 Robins last time I was down the Trailway, well this was the same area, but there was only one..... now either he went all "Highlander" (There can be only one) or the other two paired up and left him a bit of a Billy-No-Mates
I've seen a good few whilst driving this year, but this was the first time I'd seen any whilst out and about with my camera.... Brimstone in a naturally awkward area to photograph!
Can't quite make out what the Long Tailed Tit has, but it looks yummy!
I'm guessing Chiffchaff for all the warblers that follow through the rest of the walk.... mainly because of the time of year and likelihood of them being anything else is slim to zero!
A spark of blue caught my eye.....
Hoverwaspbeefly
More insects.... Small Tortoiseshell
Another Brimstone...but one that hadn't read the book "How To Land In Awkward Places"
A Comma
Which then kindly fluttered a bit lower
Hoverwaspbeefly... although more bee-like this time
Chiffchaff
Chaffinch
And this little lady should cut her toenails!!
Lovely Goldfinch
Jenny higher up than normal...must be springtime!!
Hairy insects next...a butterfly and a bee
More bleedin' warbler action
Another Peacock
Dunnock...the master of all he surveys
More Chiffchaff
When I was out, I thought this was a Yellowhammer, but now Greenfinch has crossed my mind, despite its yellowness..... and if it is, it's the first I've seen not at a feeder in over a year I reckon
And so concluded a fabulous couple of hours down the Trailway, in brilliant sunshine.
Any ID corrections welcomed for the "Chiffchaffs" and especially for the Finch
Thanks for reading
Stay Safe All

Fabulous photos PB, and a sunny day as well, so good to see you're able to enjoy the sun, while we have it.
The "Hoverwaspbeefly... although more bee-like this time" looks like it could have some white on the tail, which would suggest white tailed bumblebee.
