A glorious afternoon so we had an afternoon trip to our local wetlands hoping to catch some passing waders, Not much on that front so far but we did see 4 Ruff so added them and Linnet to our very slowly increasing year list. What we did find interesting was a flock of 10 Redwings going into their roosting copse. Although it is not yet the end of Winter, unless you work for the Met Office, we both thought they would have left for their trip home by now. Does anyone else still have these beautiful Thrushes still around in their area or is it just "our" birds that have got their seasons wrong ?

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
On my last visit to the spot where I see redwings, there was none, though a thrush was apparent. I would also add, the weather was very windy, so it could be they were staying low, because bird activity generally was quiet.
I am hoping to make a trip there this week to see what early spring activity there is.
