Thought I would kick this years thread off with the beautiful Peacock spotted today - I have had quite a few moths around the front door but not deployed the lights recently

Yesterday was sunny but breezy so we went inland to Suffolk Wildlife Trust's Black Bourn Woods. For a while we didn't see many butterflies but on a south facing run of hedgerow found a few.
Starting with what I think is a Small Skipper, possibly out a bit early.
Then a Holly Blue.
Then a Common Blue or is it a Brown Argus, not sure, help anyone?
Followed by a first for us, a Mother Shipton Moth.
We didn't see much bird life, although the trees were alive with the sound of hidden birds singing, and there were a few Dragonflies about.
Best Wishes,
Trevor
Just catching up on this thread, and brilliant photos, and to add my tuppenuth, definitely no meagre offerings.
Its also just reminded me I have speckled wood and orange tip photos from Scotland somewhere that need digging out.

And here are the two butterfly photos I'd overlooked from my time in Bonnie Scotland, whilst walking through a very young established pine woodland
