Thought I would kick this years thread off with the beautiful Peacock spotted today - I have had quite a few moths around the front door but not deployed the lights recently

Peacock Butterfly
Green Veined White - possibly male. Apparently, according to Mr Google, Males have one spot on the forewings, where females have two.

Nice capture
It is a male as you say, Mr Google being a little off tho. With GVW first brood (Spring) males there is no spot and the females are quite diffused, with 2nd brood the male with have a single spot and it is crisper than the females who again will 2 messier spots but it can look like more. They can be quite variable.
