Estuary birds

A few photos from a walk this morning beside the local estuary. It was cold, gloomy and very windy, although the sun briefly came out a couple of times.

The birds were busy feeding. I was struggling to hold the camera steady in the wind so these were the best of a bad lot!

Nice set of photos and coastal birds DB, the Pintail drakes are particularly stunning looking birds.

Good to see your pics, the birds happy in that cold water thankfully even if you were blown around. Brave to go out in the first place I think, it was windy here today but not quite as cold.

Love the photos, DB, especially the always-elegant Pintails--thanks. Shame it was so windy but the birds seem to be coping. I love the ripple marks in the sediment, too--classic ripple marks.

Nice set DB, particularly have a fondness for the Turnstone, appearing to use the seaweed as a wind break :o) Thanks for sharing
