It's probably an ideal time to start the 2022 Odds & Sods thread off, with some squabbling starlings....

This pair of starlings were having a right old go at each other, whilst another nipped in to the coconut shell for a food

My last trip up to the local Peak District to see the rut yesterday. All getting quieter and so it's coming to an end. I do like to see them all year around though so looking forward to seeing them in the snow (if we have any) and the young calves next year.
Thanks :) The young male in the woods was a fantastic rare moment. I was so intent looking at the young one on the rocks in the woods above me I didn't realize him and half a dozen had collected together behind me (probably 40ft away or so). When I heard a bit of noise I turned and they would usually run off in to the woods but not yesterday for some reason. Closest I've been and a fitting end I think to this years rut :)
Not much going on round here at the moment, apart from plenty of drizzle. I have managed a few shots of mushrooms that I found interesting while exploring local woods. I almost got a photo of a Fly Agaric with quite a large flat cap, but as I got down on the ground, Billy came charging past and knocked the head off it! ... I could of knocked his off!
I've had a go at identiying, but I don't know for sure :-)
1. Fly agaric
2. Jelly ear - reminds me of jellied eels :-)
3. Brown roll-rim
4. Don't know, there seems to be a lot very similar
5. Burgundy dropbonnet
But I didn't eat any ...
New Neighbour! (Zoom in for detail!)
Web building had just started as I left the house, and when I got back it was about 10 inches across!
