The roller has actually been here for at least a week and today we finally found a good reason to head for the other side of the county to see it. It wasn't posing at an ideal distance (too far away!) but at least it was posing:
Now that's an afternoon's birding to remember!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Definitely an afternoons birding to remember, and nice photos.
