I see there are already photos of damselflies, so it probably time to kickstart the 2021 thread
Last years thread, started by Noisette, thank you for last years thread, I hope you don't mind my starting the 2021 thread. You can look back here, Dazzling Damsels and Dragons 2020

My first sightings of banded damselflies for 2021, but there will be more to come
And a second visit to Middleton Lakes, and the banded damselflies suddenly came from nowhere!

I'm really not very good at damsels and dragons but this was just too good to miss.
Any ID appreciated.
Was out looking for the Dragons and only got a Common Darter, but when I got back home this called round to the back garden a Female Southern Hawker.
Nice capture, for you and the white throat.
A few from Minsmere a couple of days ago.
I didn't notice the lovely wing shadows from these Common Darters until I processed the pictures when I got home.
Ruddy Darter
Common Blue Damselfly
Plus a first for me, a Red Eyed damselfly
Best Wishes,
Trevor
