I see there are already photos of damselflies, so it probably time to kickstart the 2021 thread
Last years thread, started by Noisette, thank you for last years thread, I hope you don't mind my starting the 2021 thread. You can look back here, Dazzling Damsels and Dragons 2020

My first sightings of banded damselflies for 2021, but there will be more to come
And a second visit to Middleton Lakes, and the banded damselflies suddenly came from nowhere!

I did have a 4 Spotted Chaser of my own lined up, so here's a Black-tailed Skimmer instead.

Another Four-spotted Chaser. This one from below.
My bird photos HERE
A walk around my local mini lake this morning was quite product with quite a lot of Dragonfly and Damselfly activity at last.
Here's what I saw.
A pair of Common Blue Damselflies.
4 Spotted Chasers
Male Banded Demoiselle.
Female Emperor Dragonfly (I think) laying the next generation.
Male Broad Bodied Chaser
And possibly another Emperor Dragonfly
Corrections welcome for any errors in ID.
All the Best
Lot to learn
FAbulous photos Trevor, and I'm loving the banded damsels, plus the emperor dragon egg laying.
I must make a return to Middleton Lakes, my local reserve, where they have an abundance of banded damsels, and when Covid permits, back to Conwy, they really do have a good selection of dragons and damsels, and many accessible pools to watch them mate and egg lay.
Thanks Mike,
It's just in the last week or so that the Emperors have appeared locally and now I've seen quite a few including this one yesterday in quite a small pool.
