Kicking off this new thread with pics from my pond tonight ... very mild & light rain, actually went out to put fresh food & water out for Hoggies as I'd read that it was mild enough for them to come out of hibernation ... imagine my surprise to discover these critters

Looks to me as if the coupling is male on female ... what do you think!
Didn't have any females last year!
Saw some pics of spawn on FB last night at Lennon Legacy Project on the edge of Dartmoor!

After having a very large Frog visitor to the porch the other night at midnight I thought I would have a check around the pond ... still have four but often find one or other out on the grass I laid for them at back of ponds, got to better than than dry & stony earth, maybe provide some tasty snacks for them?
Looks like it's time to drag some excess algae out ... again!!
That blanket weed doesn't half spread!
We had a pond clean up at the weekend, removing the excess weed and cleaning the pump filter.

Had to smile this morning at my 'socially distanced' frogs ... maybe heard second wave coming? Lol

Strange sight today ... just practising or maybe feeling lonely?
Found this Slow Worm crossing the path on our usual walk through the woods at NT Ickworth today, first time we've seen anything worth recording for some time. There were taken on my iPhone, better than nothing.
We also saw 2 Kestrels, 2 Buzzards and a Muntjac.

An unusual visitor to the moth trap in the early morning, picking up an easy breakfast no doute,
Sadly most of the ones I see are squashed on the road. Hopefully less this year with traffic generally down.
Best wishes
