Butterflies & Moths 2020

Hi All, I took an executive decision & decided to amalgamate the Butterfly & Moth threads which may make it easier to find if it's used more!

These are the old threads from 2019 Beautiful butterflies https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/200195/beautiful-butterflies-2019#pifragment-4285=1

& Mostly Moths https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/198118/mostly-moths-2019/1273216#pifragment-4285=1

To start us off here are a few from the recent traps & wine rope,

this is a lovely Satelite from the 8th january

Best wishes

  • Lovely photos and nice to see a Holly Blue; I've just come back from my walk and saw my first Orange Tip plus a few other suspects like Small Tortie, Peacock. Strangely no sign of a Brimstone yet.

  • I've seen Orange-tip, Peacock and Brimstone flying round the garden but they are too lively to get photos. Even the Holly Blue didn't settle for long so I got lucky.

    Beautiful clear footage Russ.

If you want to upload videos greater than 5MB and have a YouTube account, you can always include a You Tube link.

  • Super bit of footage Russ ... I always upload mine to YT & post the URL ... also vids on YT reach a wider audience of interested parties!
  • Ok thanks, that'll be the next step for me.
