Hi All, I took an executive decision & decided to amalgamate the Butterfly & Moth threads which may make it easier to find if it's used more!
These are the old threads from 2019 Beautiful butterflies https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/200195/beautiful-butterflies-2019#pifragment-4285=1
& Mostly Moths https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/198118/mostly-moths-2019/1273216#pifragment-4285=1
To start us off here are a few from the recent traps & wine rope,

After 20 days pupation my Toadflax Brocade moth emerged last night ... at bedtime of course!!
Took a couple of pics ... first one as I discovered it & second after I had created more space for it to dry out
This evening I decided to set it free, had to encourage it onto my finger as it had jammed itself in the lid of the butterfly house
Promptly jumped onto floor so had to rescue it
Took it outside & placed on nearest blossom which was a newly opened Hydrangea lacecap flower ... plenty of Purple Toadflax still blooming!

Wendy....HELP......
This lovey lady laid quite a number of eggs in her pot ...Idont fancy trying to move them so can I safely leave them to hatch and then carefully transfer to grow on. The last time I grew cats. they were Painted Ladies about 20 years ago

Will be quite safe to leave them Caroline then just feed appropiately as they hatch ... is it a Cabbage moth? If so then I would not advise feeding all in captivity as their poo may be smelly ... maybe just keep two to observe til pupation as it's very interesting, a great close up insight into their life cycle!
