Hi All, I took an executive decision & decided to amalgamate the Butterfly & Moth threads which may make it easier to find if it's used more!
These are the old threads from 2019 Beautiful butterflies https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/200195/beautiful-butterflies-2019#pifragment-4285=1
& Mostly Moths https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/198118/mostly-moths-2019/1273216#pifragment-4285=1
To start us off here are a few from the recent traps & wine rope,
this is a lovely Satelite from the 8th january
Best wishes

These have been taken around the garden over the past couple of weeks. We've seen quite a few Peacocks in the garden on various plants over about 4/5 weeks.
Also many Whites, I'm no good at IDing them at all. This one is looking quite tatty.
A Ringlet, not a common visitor to the garden.
Then finally this week our Buddleia bushes have started being "butterfly bushes". First Red Admirals seen.
Finally a very ragged Tortoiseshell but have also failed to capture Meadow Brown and Brimstone.

A couple more visitors from today with the first Gatekeeper this year, that brings the garden up to at least 8 different species of butterfly.
These were enjoying the Marjoram in flower.
Fresh looking Tortoiseshell one with a Honey Bee
And the first Gatekeeper on the same plant,
