Butterflies & Moths 2020

Just disturbed this moth whilst trimming the grass round the rosebush. 

Wondering if Burnished brass but not one I'm familiar with? Have to check with H in Gironde!

Sorry Wendy I know nothing about moths . Just flew at me and when it settled I thought och why not..it maybe something unusual

Spot on Wendy, they are very lovely & change colour according to how the photo is taken. It's their time of year too.

Oooh, what a result for both of us Linda ... thanks H for confirmation, never seen one for myself but much photographed as they are often one of the highlights of televised moth trap unpacking & lots of pics on Twitter from lucky people who've found them in their garden traps!

I have just the one to post today, the farmer has cut down the sileage and all the fields were quiet, amazed to spot the Comma just ahead of me on the grass, especially as I haven't seen one this year.

That's a beauty Gaynor, good to see the butterflies having a good year including this pretty Comma.
