Hi All, I took an executive decision & decided to amalgamate the Butterfly & Moth threads which may make it easier to find if it's used more!
These are the old threads from 2019 Beautiful butterflies https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/200195/beautiful-butterflies-2019#pifragment-4285=1
& Mostly Moths https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/198118/mostly-moths-2019/1273216#pifragment-4285=1
To start us off here are a few from the recent traps & wine rope,
this is a lovely Satelite from the 8th january
Best wishes

I reckon the impending move is getting to you, 'coz those are the oddest butterflies and moths I've seen! Good photos, mind!

Yup, hate to admit, but there are still a few out there I haven't seen!
I went back to the same spot to try & get a few more photos of my new Moth & got this one instead, a Lesser Puss Moth, a real beauty
life is full of suprises!
I had fairies dancing in the garden this morning - they can be quite hard to photograph on the wing as the eye gets confused by all the little bodies moving about. I held out my hand and 2 chose to take a rest. I first encountered them in the garden last year
