Starting with a first for me ... Sparrowhawk in neighbour's garden here in quarry, only ever seen a seemingly lost youngster many years ago!
Grabbed ID vid footage through d/glazed door, then battery died & by time I'd replaced it to go outside for better res a delivery driver stopped next door & frightened the bird off!! grrrrrr
Hope it's a one-off for the sake of my Spadger horde!

M.G., hmm, M.G.? I'm afraid you've stumped me, there, which rather implies the answer, doesn't it!?

Male kestrel keeping a close eye on the female nesting near by. I think the eggs should be hatching any day soon.

Really? Would never have guessed
Lot to learn
Not a lot to add, the garden has been quiet again, but then the weather hasn't been all that welcoming either, cold, windy and cloudy.
But, we did have a wood pigeon go for a drink from he pond fountain, photos taken from the kitchen window, so are a bit yuk to say the least.
And then (cue Jaws music)
Along comes one of the local cats.....
Sizing up the woopie....
Who flew off to return another day.
No wood pigeons or cats were harmed during this sequence of events, in fact, the cat is so slow, I doubt it could catch a cold!
Even I can almost out walk it!
