THIS THREAD IS NOW DISCONTINUED, please add to the new 2020 thread HERE
Often we don't have enough photos to create a full thread so thought I'd start an Odds & Sods thread where you may want to add a pic or two when you don't have enough for their own thread . Feel free to add your rogues gallery here !
I only had a couple of pics today, one a Treecreeper and the other a very hacked off looking Great Egret huddled against the reeds trying to keep warm !

Goldcrest having a wash in my local forest this morning.
This Grey Heron spent a lot of time building a nest in the tree. There were also Little Egrets also building nests near to the herons.
I counted 18 different species in my local woods,....
Marsh, Great, Blue, LTT, Tits
Goldcrest, treecreeper, GS Woodpecker, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Chaffinch, Female Bullfinch, Nuthatch, Robin, Sparrows, Wren & M&F Reed Buntings.
A good morning and plenty of light getting through the canopy.......Oh Yes, several Comma Butterflies as well.
Thank You Mart, Yes you can see the Orange on it's crown much clearer in these photo's

Hi James,
there is no one lens made that does all perfectly but for my wildlife photography I use a combination of lenses and camera bodies.
For reach I use a Canon EF600mm f/4 L IS II USM usually with a 1.4x or 2x convertor on.
For very low light and close ups I use a Canon EF200mm f/2 L IS USM
For birds in flight I use a Canon EF100-400 f/4.5-f/5.6 L IS II USM.
If I had to choose a favourite it would be the very fast 200 with it's large aperture of f/2. I need so little light with this lens. With the 1.4TC it becomes a 280mm @ f/2.8 and 400mm @ f/4 with 2x TC. On a crop body 1.6x you can achieve an equivalent 640mm at f/4 a very flexible versatile lens. Here's one I took on one of those very dark grey horrible days at f/2.
