THIS THREAD IS NOW DISCONTINUED, please add to the new 2020 thread HERE
Often we don't have enough photos to create a full thread so thought I'd start an Odds & Sods thread where you may want to add a pic or two when you don't have enough for their own thread . Feel free to add your rogues gallery here !
I only had a couple of pics today, one a Treecreeper and the other a very hacked off looking Great Egret huddled against the reeds trying to keep warm !

Decided to use my old Canon dslr today for a change . This body was released over 11 years ago and I've owned mine for nearly 8 years. It still takes amazing photo's. It has it's limitations, however it's never failed me. I must use it more.
Went to the Forest of Dean today.......
Counted 11 Crossbills (Orange/Yellow/Olive colours),
5 Hawfinches,
7 Jays, 3 Dippers, 3 Song thrushes, 1 Dunnock, 9 Blackbirds, 2 Magpies and 30-40 Chaffinches.

That Reed Bunting looks pretty advanced in changing plumage - it's nearly ready for Spring already!

I guess they'll all be up in the trees soon - I think the Herons are nesting but I'm not sure if Egrets start as early.
A few randoms from the local trip on to the Peak District from the weekend.
Lot to learn
Just you try standing on 1 leg without falling down with your eyes shut and continuously yawning and crapping for over an hour whilst sticking your tongue out. It's something I do quite often.
Disant shots 'heavily cropped) of the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker. Taken through our window which hasn"t been cleaned in a while! I thought it was a log-tailed tit when I first saw it, they are so small!
It stayed for 10 or 15 minutes & I finally decided to take a chance on going outside to get better photos & it flew off before I even got the door open.
Best wishes
