THIS THREAD IS NOW DISCONTINUED, please add to the new 2020 thread HERE
Often we don't have enough photos to create a full thread so thought I'd start an Odds & Sods thread where you may want to add a pic or two when you don't have enough for their own thread . Feel free to add your rogues gallery here !
I only had a couple of pics today, one a Treecreeper and the other a very hacked off looking Great Egret huddled against the reeds trying to keep warm !

The photo of the Starling below was taken with a 200mm prime. I don't need a big lens to take photo's of these in my town as they come close to you.
Lots of people consider them as pests. I think they are beautiful, just look at their markings and colours. There are reports saying that they have grown significantly in population and are considered a nuisance in both urban and rural areas, making starling control and management a necessity. They gather in large flocks, are noisy and their droppings are offensive, and they can cause economic grain and feed loss by feeding on sprouting crops.
I often watch the amazing evening murmuration shows on the Somerset levels they are spectacular to watch.
But what should be done about them. I say leave them. In fact their numbers are declining and are a RSPB Red status. When I see one I always take a photo, even though I'm told many a time it's just another starling.
