My two newts were together under a big lily pad yesterday ... Oooooh!

Nice spot. You rarely see either of the two UK lizards - I've not even seen a "Common" one for years, let alone the other.
That's the trouble isn't it, with lenses. I said I was going to stop carrying my telephoto for the summer and promptly needed it for a deer so I'm still carting it about … for now!

We haven't really had enough warm sun for them to bask in, am often lucky at local nature reserve where they have marked out pathways with continuous lines of cut branches complete with peeling bark, perfect conditions on a hot quiet day when noisy kids at school!

Can hear Hoggie munching in background, good thing he would have trouble catching a lively frog!

It's about a foot long to tip of tail, maybe a bit more. I'll have to measure the blocks on the bridge wall! They are lovely colours when you get a decent shot of them.

Just seen your frog hopping along, what was zooming through right to left?

Gosh how weird, looks like several or did you repeat it? Could it be grasshoppers?

Just the one clip H at three different speeds!  Seems like a definite landing & take-off, what a coincidence to be in same clip as the frog!

It looks a big jump for a grasshopper … but it might be (or a cricket as it's night). The laid back frog just sat there and did nothing even if dinner was bouncing by!!
