How about a corvid thread?couple more tonight

You are so right Hazel, the other morning I was walking back up the path having pick raspberries for breakfast when a Grass Snake went across the path in front of me from a lawn area over the path and under some shrubs on the other side. Rushed into the house to grab a camera but needless to say I could find no sign of it and wondered whether it had spent some time in the pond before moving on. We have had them in the pond, as no doubt they would feed on the newts.

Always the way Tony, 95% of the time I have the camera with me on a walk but it's usually the other 5% of the time when I see the odd rarity to photograph - it's as if they know you don't have the camera with you and come out of hiding to taunt you lol

If I ventured out tonight camera in hand - will the fox be doing it's rounds - of course not!!!!!

One from me, can anyone tell me is it unusual for a Carrion Crow to have a white neck ? 

Hi ilrobins, the crow is standing out up there, and no it isn't so unusual to see the white feathers, look up 'leucistic' on google and you will see it is usually the dark coloured birds that lose pigment in their feathers thus causing the white feathers. I remember getting a lovely white headed blackbird visiting the garden years ago, lovely looking bird that came regularly for quite a while.
