I was lucky enough to escape across to Brownsea whilst at an event.All the action here is on the nature reserve.Thrilled to see dozens of Spoonbills on the lagoon & squirrels in the woods nearby.Took a few snaps on the shoreline.The L.Egrets seemed to prefer to feed here,with the Gulls. I didn`t recognize one of them.Is it a med gull or just wishful thinking? I was really hoping to see a pine ladybird but got a cream-streaked one instead. Loads to see & hear but didn`t have the time to do it justice.Will pencil in next autumn methinks.

Oooooh EB, am so envious as it's a place I want to visit too! Well done on capturing MG pic, at least I'll know what to look for amongst the hordes of Gulls here ... do they come to Margate for their hols ?... mebbe day trippers to leave their mark on the Turner Gallery!!

I've just had to google Brownsea Island - I'd no idea where it was, but a bit of a long way off from me! It looks lovely and all those Spoonbills must have been a pretty impressive sight.

Thank you for the kind comments.`Wader Watch` makes a pleasant change from the usual charging around after birds at home. :-) Turnstones shoveling through the seaweed & pebbles was about as frenetic as it got.Even the Sika were pretty laid back.
And thank you for the id,Aiki. It was all alone amongst the grillions of black-headed etc. poor thing :-(
Wow so many Spoonbill, fantastic. Great pics Edge, loved the Turnstones too and the small Sika deer, looks a great place to visit.
Lot to learn
Visited Brownsea a few days ago hoping to spot a red squirrel. Spent all day looking out before spotting one 10 minutes before catching the ferry.
