hi
I have been watching a bird of prey hunting over my town centre for 2 months now and finally i got a photo of it . I now am sure it is one of a pair of Peregrine falcons. i got a photo of it after it took off from delivering a kill to its mate . They have a nest in our local unused and boarded up church.
WOW
I have been thinking for weeks it was a sparrow hawk , but after getting the photo I have now proved beyond any doubt it is a peregrine falcon.

Hi sueg1
Welcome to the forum.
Sounds exciting. They are such spectacular birds of prey. Can you post your photo. I'm sure we'd all like to see it.
In case you don't know how to do it, click on the little green filmstrip icon when you are making a post and then follow instructions.

WOW indeed. It looks as though it's coming straight at you . Did you duck? Thanks for posting.
Wow!! What a great capture. I've never seen one.

Thanks Sue, brilliant photograph. Great that you have been so observant.
the first photo i got was not very good but then i heard two calls then suddenly the adult bird came in with a kill and delivered it to the other adult bird. It was a t this point I realised there was not one bird but a pair with a nest.
Fantastic shot of a fantastic bird. After nearly being wiped out in the UK the peregrine has made a great recovery and can now be enjoyed by nature lovers in towns and cities across the UK thanks to its ability to adapt to our ever more urban landscape.
As peregrines are still a scarce bird it would be worth reporting to your county bird recorder which you should be able to find on the Birdtrack website.

Very nice shot :-)
