Oh my goodness, I hope he doesn't get in with me. I don't like the look of him at all.
Will you help me get rid of Froggy? And then you can scrub my back.
After all that, the blinking blackbird poo'd in the water. I'm out of here ... and there's a pesky sparrow on its way
Sob, sob, sob, I've got soap in my eyes
Cheers, Linda.

Linda - I'm so sorry about all those lovely ducklings. What an awful shame, and how cruel of the swan. What harm could they possibly have done to the swan. No wonder you need cheering up.

I'm afraid I could end up getting boring with this, but I love watching them all in the bath. It is a busy place at the moment.
Hi Sparrow
Love your photos of Mr Blackbird - is that the Sargent Major Mr Blackbird?

Thank you Kathy,
Yes, that's Sergeant Major Blackbird. You can tell by his grumpy expression!
Here are a couple of sparrows having fun in our school pond! Now that it's pretty warm in Gibraltar, they spend a lot of time here!! I wish I had a better camera tho'!!
Lovely pictures Monica, water looks inviting.

Lovely natural photographs Monica.
Hello Sparrow,
Cracking photos and captions! Fresh clean water is essential for birds, not just to drink but to bathe in as well, especially in winter. It is essential that they keep their feathers in good condition, and bathing is an important part of feather maintenance. Dampening the feathers loosens the dirt and makes their feathers easier to preen. When preening, birds carefully rearranges the feathers and spreads oil from the preen gland so they remain waterproof and trap an insulating layer of air underneath to keep them warm.
