Whenever I get the bus to Bury to go to college I sometimes see this beautiful Barn owl hunting over fields which are by the river, these fields used to be for grazing sheep but have so far been allowed to grow long hopefully providing cover for it's prey. Always look for it now every morning, and wonder if it nests in a dead tree by the river or the white willow which is alive and well despite a couple of holes in it.
What a wonderful sight! I often only see them after dark!
