Just a quick hello, the move went well but too much to do & too little time to do it. I did a moth trap last Friday only 2 days after we finished moving, there over 250 moths & I'm still sorting them. This is one that came to the window soon after we moved, just to whet your appetites.
It's called a Brown China-mark.
Sorry it's a quick visit, will pop in again in a few days!

Busy little B isn't it. Amazingly long proboscis. You need Noisette or Edge to ID it methinks.

New white Buddleia this year & is just yielding good results, been very well visited today resulting in lots of vids & just been ministering to a poor bee bumble who fell in my pond, will post on insect thread!

Where did you go for your Moth night Wendy, was it at the reserve?
Your lovely moth on the Buddlhea is a Broad-barred White (I think). Mother Shipton is lovely because if you look at it you can see the face of an old "hag" looking in from the sides! Big nose & chin!
It is one of my favourites as I used to frequent a certain Mother Shiptons Cafe in Williton, Somerset & her saying was "Watchet shall fall into the sea & Williton a Seaport be". As I lived in Watchet at the time this had a profound effect on my childhood! LOL!
Sorry TJ, not many vulture photos, but the find of the hols was a Scarce Copper, seen in a paradise at 2000+m.
The holiday was great & we had a day near some lakes, really high up, breathtaking scenery & air so fresh.........I'll try & do a thread for you.
