RIght then - after a bit of discussion it seems 23rd September would be a good date for quite a few of us so let's go with that date! Hope as many of you can come as possible. We can sort out the finer details - times etc later. It woud be great if you could add your name to the list if you can come. So far, definites are:

We're planning a trip to furrin' parts so unfortunately will miss you all on the 23rd but a heads up for folks who don't know Regent's Park - keep an eye out in the trees for Parakeets, particularly by the zoo entrance - there are also numerous wildfowl which are very approachable (I saw Goldeneye, Egyptian Geese and Shelduck among others) and the Herons there don't fly away when humans approach.
I would like to come if I can work things out with a career Would that be OK?
Yay, Patily - it would be brilliant to see you! I'll be happy to come and get you if carers are a problem.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Just thought I'd bump this up even though I cannot join you. We are otherwise engaged then, but I hope you have brilliant time! Can't wait to see the pics!
Kind regards, Ann
What an enormous pity, Ann - it would have been brilliant to meet you. On the plus side it does at least mean we'll have to have another get together on a date you can make!
Thanks, Clare, I'd love to meet you and the rest of the gang, too! All in good time. (We'll be on the Isle of Man when you are in London.)
Thanks for the advice John and shame you can't come. I've never seen ring necked parakeets so would love to see those.
Gardenbirder - shame you can't make it, but like Clare said another time....
And Patily - glad you can join us. I have bought my train ticket now so no backing out!!
Take a look at the map below and it might give you an idea of where to go. Obviously some of these birds are seasonal visitors and many of the photos were taken some time ago, but it gives an idea of what can be seen (if you're lucky)
Unicum arbustum haud alit duos erithacos
(One bush does not shelter two Robins)
Zenodotus (3rd Century B.C.)
Thought I'd bump this so that the gang who are meeting up get to see the information on my previous posting. Click on the photo of each bird and the date of the photo will show. It will give a better idea of the likelihood of a sighting, but I'm sure Aiki will advise accordingly. Enjoy...
Wow, Monkeycheese - I bet that took some work! Wish you were coming.
