..if you live in Dubai! I`ll try to get brother&sister in law interested in doing a spot of birdwatching for me whilst they`re staying there.Just been sent this picture from their home.Have asked if there`s any chance of a Socotra Shag coming my way.
Haha! That's brilliant, not often you get a Hoopoe from the window!
Now we know where they go for their winter hols.

Am sending pictures of British birds in return for oil but am only expecting pink waders & parakeets back! This game will run for at least(the length of their contract)4 years. Will up the ante by including Waxwings if the going gets tough. ;-)
What a stunning bird! I wouldn't mind a view like that.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
That's a brilliant shot, when I think of the years I worked in saudi and Oman and never once thought of photographing the birdlife !!!

cheers Terry

LOL Edge, what a brilliant bird to have outside their house, I don't blame the Hoopoe for choosing Dubai after today's weather over here ! 4 year Contract eh ? so I expect to see a lot more pics of special overseas residents LOL keep 'em coming :) BTW, hubby worked for Shell for nearly 30 years and we didn't get as much as a can of oil free !!

Common Myna. Intoduced to control insect pests,it`s become a pest in itself.A member of the starling family..and a bit of a bully,I`m told.
Oh wouldn't mind that on my windowsill. I was amazed to see them wandering around the hotel gardens in Puerto de Mogan when we were on holiday
Of all creatures, man is the most detestable, he is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain. ~ Mark Twain
They are not playing this game well at all! I`m sending pictures of our beautiful British birds & in return ,I get (what I think is) a quackless Muscovy hybrid...
