Blanket Bog Restoration Volunteers

Join in on our award winning restoration work being carried out at Dove Stone.
Become a volunteer on a project helping threatened moorland birds, improve water quality & combat climate change!

Wednesday, Friday & Occasional Weekends

You need a reasonable level of physical fitness and a willingness to work in most weathers and ground conditions - eg. not to mind getting wet and muddy! You'll also need enthusiasm, to be a team player, a willingness to follow reasonable Health & Safety measures (eg PPE, pre task tools talks etc).

We are running regular work parties on Wednesdays and Fridays to restore blanket bog habitat by installing gully blocks, planting sphagnum moss and removing invasive species such as Rhododendron.

There will also be opportunities to take part in surveys during breeding bird season, tree planting to restore moorland edge including maintenance of Pennyworth Woods.
