Is there anything my kids and myself can do to help after the damage? My daughter (10), is devastated about all the chicks and wants to do something.

Hi Matt
There isn't much that can be done at this stage. The Visitor Centre has been cleared out and we will be operating an exciting activity focussed service out of there during the games. The reserve is looking remarkably good considering the height of the flood water, but North Hide remains shut for the foreseeable due to the boardwalk being unfit for use. Repairing that will be a job for the estate team. We have a marquee up at the VC now, so bring the kids down and we can do some pond dipping etc with them. The marsh harrier chicks and at least a third of the common tern chicks survived the flood at Lodmoor, so its not all doom and gloom. Wetland wildlife bounces back quite quickly from floods and other disasters.
Thanks for the reply.
Is it time to erect raised platforms or floating platforms for the terns ect to breed on?
